The Saturday team rides are a staple of Team Oregon. This is where we meet other teammates, gain fitness, make friends, boost egos and make memories. We offer Saturday 'no drop' team rides year round and occasional Sunday category specific rides. If you are interested in joining the team, come out to a ride and meet us.
Fitness: The Saturday Team rides are a great opportunity for training miles and a certain level of fitness is expected to provide a worthwhile experience for the entire group. Average speeds on a typical 50 mile ride are around 19-22 mph, which would include climbs of 7-9% and rolling to flat terrain. To measure one’s ability to stay with the group, you should be able to sustain an average pace of 16-18 mph for 2-3 hours during your "individual" private training. If you feel your fitness level meets these criteria, we look forward to having you join us on future Team Oregon Saturday rides.
The rides start at 9:00am year round. Rides begin on time so please arrive with plenty of time to get your gear ready. If it's raining or wet roads, please have fenders and full mudflap. Come prepared! Tube, toolkit, and pump is suggested. Ensure your bike is ready to roll too! 2 Bottles and plenty of food for the journey is highly recommended, however on longer or hot rides we will stop for water/food.
Location: We meet in the WEST parking lot of Liberty High School in Hillsboro, Oregon right off (North) HWY 26 . Plenty of parking is available.
The Saturday team ride happens every Saturday, rain or shine, whether or not a route is posted below. Normally, routes for the upcoming Saturday ride are posted Thursday or Friday before the ride.
